BACK FROM THE DEAD.

I haven’t written content or engaged in social media for months. On one hand, I went through a personal evaluation to determine what’s important in my life, the work that I do, and set priorities straight. So when it came to learning more about what direction I want to take, cutting off social media and blogging was easy.

On the other hand, I’ve been working on a new book non-stop for about 7 months, which I finished today. I still have to design the cover and go through the process of publishing it online. But I’m glad that this project is finished. Not only I think it will be helpful for others, but I’m damn glad that it’s done after re-writing it twice and trimming it from over 100,000 words to just about 37,000. Essential content = maximum impact.

I also got back to Music Production. I’ve been a musician since I was 13, but got involved in it as a possible life path in 2004. I played in a metal band that became popular, a Spanish rock band that got featured on Univision and other Spanish outlets, designed studios for a couple of NJ-based famous people (2 rappers, a metal band, a basketball player, and a rapper-turned-reality tv actor), and self-produced an alt-rock album titled “Looks Better from There”, which I published in secret for myself, but that you can find at the bottom of this post.

But life, marriages, divorces, parenting, and starting from scratch again a couple of times forced me to put music in the back burner. Until now. While I didn’t play in a band or produced full time, I didn’t stop learning about production, mixing, theory, marketing, and other important aspects of the music business. Now I’m putting what I learned into practice by starting a new music project titled “NeroBlack”. The album’s title is “LKM3”. It’s composed of 7 songs and produced in its entirety by myself. I am releasing each song as it is finished.

But this post isn’t to talk about these things. It’s to write about the amount of people who reached out to me during this absence. Part of taking a break was that I felt nobody cared for my content, which takes a lot of time, effort and sacrifice to put out. But getting messages on Instagram and email helped me realize that what I do matters, and that I should continue investing in the purpose of helping others suffer a bit less.

Thank you for supporting me while I walk this path, blind. It’s good to know that what I’ve shared is helpful, that you appreciate my music, and that you look forward for more of it. Thank you for investing your time in my work instead of the buffet of not-so-free-entertainment. I appreciate you all, and I have a few things planned for my loyal supporters. I’ll share it over the next posts, whether here or on Instagram (yeah, yeah, I know, I need a TikTok).

Stay tuned for what’s to come. Thanks again for your support. I hope you are all well and striving to make this a life worth living.
